The objective of this study was to characterize the probable magnitude of the quantity of water demanded and supplied, as well as the quality of such water, in the United States for the next half-century -- from 2000 to 2050 -- and identify regional deficits (if any). This study also identifies opportunities for improving the availability of water and its quality in the context of sustainable development (which, in turn, influences electricity demand and production).
