Summary Report of The Integrated Cholera Control and Prevention Program for Machala, Ecuador
This report is a summary of the four activities. It relates each activity to the observations made during the 1992 rapid assessment, summarizes the implementation of each activity, and assesses the immediate post-implementation impact. This report also presents an assessment of lessons learned and actions for the future. The purpose of this report is to do the following:1) Review and summarize the four tasks;2) Compare the state of readiness to prevent and control the spread of cholera in Machala following the implementation of the integrated program with that observedin the rapid assessment carried out in 1992; 3) Provide overall observations on the effectiveness of the integrated program to prevent and control the spread of cholera in Machala; 4) Present lessons learned as a result of the rapid assessment and the follow-up integrated cholera control and prevention program.
