Offers insight into how to effectively manage water resources in rural and urban areas of Arizona. While the Groundwater Management Act (GMA) provides a framework for active management areas, it does not address the need for rural areas of the state to develop and implement long-term water plans. As such, the Arizona Rural Watershed Initiative seeks to provide planning and technical assistance to rural areas with expanding populations and limited groundwater resources.
