Irrigation Policy and Management in Southeast Asia
Contains 20 seminar papers reporting research and management efforts to achieve potential agricultural productivity through improved irrigation planning and implementation in Southeast Asia. Papers cover selected strategies in planning and designing irrigation infrastructure in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia; management, operation, and maintenance of irrigation systems (e.g., research results and description of training program for water management personnel); economic issues in irrigation such as analyses of the economic performance of various types of projects and assessments of policies for securing repayment of irrigation investment; and irrigation organization and farmers' sociological, anthropological, and socioeconomic behavior.
