Variants of aquaculture exist depending upon the prevailing conditions of an area. For example, fish farming operations in Arizona, a mostly hot, arid region, will differ from what occurs in the Southeast, a wet region and the center of aquaculture in the United States. Desert aquaculture is lesser known, its practice and potential still being explored.
