In 1969 Utah State University, in cooperation with USAID, began a five-year program to improve and increase the library holdings in on-farm water management and related subjects. To date, 9,132 titles are housed in the component parts of the Merrill Library which are pertinent to on-farm water. This figure includes: 5,964 books catalogued by Dewey decimal call number; 1,593 books housed in the archives and special collections section of the library; 1,152 government documents; 432 vertical file materials; 301 non-book microfilm, microfiche and motion pictures; and 88 maps. Holdings in other centers of information on campus have also been included in the bibliography. There are 1,634 titles in the Utah Water Research Laboratory, 450 titles in the Agricultural and Irrigation Engineering Department, and 193 titles on business law in the College of Business.
