Research on the nutrition of warm-water fish in North America is still in its infancy. The first controlled experiments were not conducted until the early 1950's. Almost all of the research work on the nutrition of warm-water fish has been concerned with the channel catfish. This review also includes information on the nutrition of other species where appropriate.
