Volume III of a comprehensive field study of the irrigation system in Pakistan presents findings concerning the consequences of the present irrigation system. Contains material on (1) physical and social characteristics of the irrigation system; (2) consequences of present farm water management (conveyance efficiencies and loss rates on the watercourse); (3) field application efficiencies as judged by macro site and positional variables; (4) irrigation efficiency; (5) land use, cropping patterns and cropping intensities; and (6) yields on wheat, rice, and cotton crops.
