This paper covers the sociocultural aspects of fisheries management. Sociocultural impacts of fisheries management have become somewhat of an issue since the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976 mandated that regulations must consider social as well as economic and biological impacts of fisheries management in the United States.
