This report is the realization of four objectives: (1) the analysis of sociocultural survey data collected in 1979; (2) the updating of this analysis with observations made in Oman in 1984; (3) the utilization of the information generated to make sociocultural and economic recommendations concerning the particular issues in the development of Oman's small-scale fishery; and (4) the utilization of available information for the short-term Catch Assessment Survey design.
