The following training guide provides systematic skill development for training local project promoters in the steps and techniques necessary for a project in rainwater roof catchment systems. It provides training in setting up systems intended for either dry or wet areas. The guide is a response to the need for water supply in developing countries where roof catchment for drinking and domestic use is feasible and often the only low-cost alternative. The development of this manual is based upon extensive research in the full range of rainwater harvesting techniques that have successfully been used in all areas of the world.
